Select the system import mode

When you import a system backup to an existing environment, you can specify one of the following options:

Replace existing objects if encountered (Default).
Imports all backed-up objects replacing (unmodified) previous content and imports objects that do not exist.
Ignore imported objects if existing objects are encountered.
If an identical existing object is encountered, it remains as is and is not imported, a message is logged, and the import process moves on to evaluate the next object.
Update (add objects that don't already exist, replace objects that do exist).
Adds new objects that do not exist. Adds backed-up content to objects that do exist (incremental updates).

The Update option enables you to incrementally update certain objects. It is only effective for multi-layer objects with parent-child associations. For flat/single object definitions, the Update mode operates in the same way as the Replace mode. The following table lists the updates applicable to multi-layer objects.
