CSOS configuration for sending

Follow this outline to configure Activator to sign and send CSOS purchase orders. A system administrator performs the steps, except as noted when a CSOS signing user should perform a task.

1. Install Axway CSOS. Follow the instructions in the Activator documentation to set up a community and at least one partner. See Add a community and Add a partner to a community.
   A partner is a pharmaceutical supplier that will receive your orders.
   
2. Select Users and roles > Add a role in the user interface.
   
3. Type the name for the role. This is the role to assign to the users who log on to view CSOS orders and sign orders using a DEA-issued signing certificate.
4. At minimum, select the permission Approve CSOS orders for the role. You can grant other permissions, depending on how much latitude you want to give to CSOS order signers. You may not want to give the role the same permissions as the administrator role. For more information, see About CSOS roles and Role permissions.
5. Click Add this role to create the role.
4. Select Users and roles > Add a user.
5. Add the user account for the person who is to log on and sign CSOS purchase orders with a signing certificate. Assign the user to the CSOS role you added in step 3.
6. Click Add this user to create the user.
7. Repeat this step if you need to add another CSOS signing user.
6. Have the CSOS user you added in step 5 log on to the user interface.
7. Have the CSOS user select Change my user account on the toolbar. Depending on the permissions for the role assigned to the user, this link is on the User settings menu or the Users and roles menu.
8. Have the CSOS user select the Personal certificates tab and click Add a certificate to open the certificate wizard.
9. The certificate to add is the user’s signing certificate from DEA. A signing certificate is needed to send signed orders to a partner.
10. Import the signing certificate to Activator. See Import CSOS signing certificate.
11. The required DEA-issued intermediate and root certificates are pre-loaded in Activator. These are required to complete the chain of trust upon importing the DEA-issued signing certificate (also known as an end-entity certificate).
9. If not already complete, configure an external SMTP server. (See the Activator Installation Guide.) Then, have the CSOS user select the CSOS daily e-mail tab and specify the following:
   
   1. Select Send a daily e-mail notification with the number of orders that are in my signing queue.
   2. Set the time for the daily e-mail notification.
   3. Click Save.
10. Add the following document type(s) to configure the display of CSOS purchase orders
    
    • If your license includes Transaction Director features, use Transaction configuration > Add a document type.
    • If your license does not include Transaction Director features, use Message tracker > Configure payload view.

11. *Add the 855 document type if you plan to configure Axway CSOSto associate each 855 purchase order acknowledgment your system receives back from a supplier with the original PO. This enables you to see that each order was authenticated and processed successfully.
11. Configure Activator to identify outbound CSOS orders and place the documents in a queue for signing. See Identify CSOS purchase orders.
12. Display and approve the orders in the user interface. See Sign pending orders.
